Infused with the vibrant flavors of ginger, lime, and soy, this Air Fryer Asian Ginger-Lime Sole is a light, healthy, and aromatic dish. Perfectly air-fried, it’s a quick and flavorful meal for any occasion.

Ingredients:

  • 4 sole fillets (about 4-6 oz each)

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium preferred)

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup

  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • Zest of 1 lime

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • Green onions and sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Sole:

  • Rinse the sole fillets and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels.

  • Lightly season both sides of the fillets with black pepper.

2. Make the Marinade:

  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, ginger, garlic, lime juice, and lime zest.

  • Taste and adjust the balance of sweet, salty, and tangy to your preference.

3. Marinate the Sole:

  • Place the fillets in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the fish, ensuring each fillet is well coated.

  • Marinate in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.

4. Preheat the Air Fryer:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.

5. Cook the Sole:

  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper.

  • Remove the fillets from the marinade, letting the excess drip off, and place them in a single layer in the basket.

  • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 6-8 minutes. The fillets should be tender and flake easily with a fork.

6. Garnish and Serve:

  • Transfer the cooked sole to a serving platter.

  • Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds for added flavor and presentation. Serve immediately.

Pro Tips for Success:

  • Fresh Ginger: Use fresh ginger for the most aromatic and flavorful result. If unavailable, ½ teaspoon of ground ginger can be substituted.

  • Avoid Overcrowding: Cook the fillets in batches if necessary to ensure even cooking.

  • Custom Marinade: Add a splash of rice vinegar for extra tanginess or a pinch of chili flakes for a spicy kick.
