Ingredients:

For the Sea Bass:

  • 4 sea bass fillets (about 6 oz each)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For the Glaze:

  • ¼ cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)

  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • ½ teaspoon sesame oil

  • ½ teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 teaspoon water (optional, for thickening)

For Garnish:

  • Green onions, chopped

  • Sesame seeds

  • Lime wedges

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Sea Bass:

  • Rinse the sea bass fillets and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels.

  • Brush both sides of the fillets with olive oil and season lightly with salt and pepper.

2. Make the Glaze:

  • In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil.

  • Heat over medium heat until the mixture begins to simmer. Stir in the cornstarch mixture (if using) and cook for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.

3. Preheat the Air Fryer:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.

4. Cook the Sea Bass:

  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

  • Place the fillets in a single layer in the basket. Cook in batches if needed.

  • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fish is flaky and cooked through.

5. Glaze the Fish:

  • Brush the glaze generously over the cooked sea bass fillets while still warm.

6. Serve:

  • Transfer the glazed sea bass to a serving plate. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.

Pro Tips for Success:

  • Don’t Overcook: Check the fish at the 8-minute mark to ensure it doesn’t dry out.

  • Thicker Glaze: Use the cornstarch mixture if you prefer a thicker, stickier glaze.

  • Custom Flavors: Add a pinch of chili flakes for heat or a splash of sriracha for extra spice.
