Air Fryer Crustless Quiche

Servings: 4

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 18-20 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 5 large eggs

  • 1/2 cup milk or cream

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper

  • 1/4 cup diced onion

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Mixture:

    • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, crack the eggs and whisk until well combined.

    • Add the milk (or cream for a richer quiche), salt, black pepper, and dried thyme if using. Whisk thoroughly to ensure the seasoning is evenly distributed.

    • Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, chopped bell pepper, and diced onion. Make sure the ingredients are well mixed for even distribution in the quiche.

  2. Prepare the Air Fryer:

    • Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C).

    • Lightly grease a small oven-safe dish that fits in your air fryer basket. This can be a small pie dish, a baking pan, or even a silicone mold.

  3. Air Fry the Quiche:

    • Pour the egg mixture into the prepared dish, ensuring the vegetables and cheese are evenly spread throughout.

    • Place the dish carefully into the air fryer basket and cook for 18-20 minutes. To check if the quiche is done, insert a toothpick or knife into the center—if it comes out clean, your quiche is ready.

    • If the top starts to brown too quickly, cover the dish loosely with aluminum foil to prevent burning.

  4. Cool and Serve:

    • Once done, remove the dish from the air fryer and allow it to cool for 5-10 minutes. This helps the quiche set and makes it easier to slice.

    • Slice and serve warm.

Pro Tips:

  • Add-Ins: Customize your quiche with additional ingredients like chopped spinach, diced mushrooms, crumbled bacon, or even feta cheese for different flavors.

  • Cheese Variety: You can easily swap cheddar cheese with Swiss, feta, or even Gruyere to change the flavor profile.

  • Check Doneness: The quiche should be puffed up and slightly firm to the touch when done. It will deflate slightly as it cools.

  • Make-Ahead Option: The quiche can be made ahead of time and reheated. Store in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat in the air fryer for 3-4 minutes at 300°F.

  • Individual Portions: Use silicone muffin cups or ramekins to make individual crustless quiches that are perfect for meal prep or portion control.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Breakfast or Brunch: Serve with a side of fresh fruit or mixed greens for a healthy and balanced breakfast or brunch.

  • Toppings: Top with a dollop of sour cream, salsa, or hot sauce for added flavor. You can also sprinkle some fresh herbs like chives or parsley on top.

  • Meal Prep: Make several quiches ahead of time and refrigerate or freeze for quick and easy breakfasts throughout the week. Air Fryer Crustless Quiche
