Air Fryer Garlic Herb Butter Halibut

Rich, buttery, and infused with the aromatic flavors of fresh herbs, this Air Fryer Garlic Herb Butter Halibut is an elegant dish that’s simple to prepare in the air fryer.

Ingredients:

  • 4 halibut fillets (about 6-8 oz each)

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or ½ teaspoon dried thyme)

  • ½ teaspoon paprika

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • Lemon wedges, for serving

  • Fresh herbs, for garnish

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Halibut:

  • Rinse the halibut fillets and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels.

  • Lightly season both sides with salt and pepper.

2. Make the Garlic Herb Butter:

  • In a small bowl, mix melted butter, lemon juice, minced garlic, parsley, thyme, and paprika. Stir until well combined.

3. Coat the Fish:

  • Brush the garlic herb butter generously over both sides of each fillet. Reserve a small amount for basting during cooking.

4. Preheat the Air Fryer:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.

5. Cook the Halibut:

  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

  • Place the fillets in a single layer in the basket, leaving space between each piece.

  • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through and brushing with the reserved garlic herb butter. The fish should flake easily with a fork.

6. Serve:

  • Transfer the cooked halibut to a serving platter. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve with lemon wedges for an extra burst of citrus.

Pro Tips for Success:

  • Fresh Herbs: Use fresh parsley and thyme for the best flavor. If substituting dried herbs, use half the amount.

  • Don’t Overcook: Check the fish at the 8-minute mark to avoid overcooking, as halibut can dry out quickly.

  • Alternative Butter: For a richer flavor, use browned butter in the herb mixture.
